Annual Events in Carterton

Harvest Wine Festival (early March) - held at The Cliffs, approximately 15 minutes from Carterton, where you can enjoy a variety of quality local wines and food. Regional shuttle service available for this event

Wairarapa Balloon Festival - Mid March, a variety of hot air balloons taking part in a 3 day event beginning with a lift off from Clareville Showgrounds (just 2 minutes from Carterton) and featuring several different events through the Wairarapa Region.

Carterton Daffodil Carnival (early September) - Market day in Carterton CBD. Take the shuttle bus from Carterton to Middlerun and pick daffodils. Traditionally the Steam Train runs from Wellington on this day.

Gladestone Scarecrow Festival (late October early November) - Take a drive around the Gladestone area to view scarecrows of all shapes and sizes. Gladstone School is also very involved in this community event, many a scarecrow can be viewed around the school grounds.
